How I work
I work relationally; integrating Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis with CBT techniques. To give you an idea of what this means here is a brief description of one aspect of each of these approaches:-
The Psychodynamic approach helps us bring into our awareness our feelings that are rooted in our past and that are stopping us behaving the way we want in the present.
The Person-Centred approach enables clients to nurture the natural emotional growth of the individual.
Gestalt can include a more experimental way of seeing ourselves.
Transactional Analysis can help us look at the dynamics that we can find ourselves in with others.
CBT offers other ways of thinking that can change the way we feel.
I am regularly supervised by a fully qualified clinical supervisor and do on-going professional development to keep up with the most current thinking in counselling/psychotherapy.
You can start with an introductory session and then see if you want to continue. The sessions will take place once a week for 50 minutes.
I practice in two counselling centres at The Practice Rooms in Bristol Clifton and Westbury-on-Trym.
