I believe that we all have feelings that need to be listened to, and expressed; otherwise we can experience overwhelming emotions such as:

About Counselling #01

Low self-esteem

These emotions can manifest themselves in

Addictions (Sexual, Internet, Gambling)

Eating concerns

Personal identity

Or we might need support through a life event such as:

A relationship break up

Change of circumstances such as:

retirement, children leaving home

Or we can be stuck in unhealthy relationships because of a difficult childhood and family experiences

Or maybe we experience an empty feeling that there must be something else.

The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists collated evidence for the benefits of counselling and summarised it as:-

“The current research evidence indicates that counselling can be an effective intervention for a range of presenting issues, from common mental health problems, to personality disorders, substance misuse, and long term health conditions, and that it can be utilised successfully with various client groups.”
(BACP, 2013).

I can offer a place where difficult feelings can be expressed confidentially in a non-judgemental accepting environment. With the aim of becoming aware of a different perspective which can help you to recognise other options of being.
